Our Beliefs

Rooted in Scripture, informed by historic Christianity, and applied to everyday life.

Built on the Word of God

Bethel Church holds to the historic, orthodox Christian faith as summarized in the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. We believe the Bible — both Old and New Testaments — is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, and the supreme guide for all matters of faith and conduct.

What We Stand On

01
The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God — fully trustworthy in all it affirms. It is our final authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, and practice.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." — 2 Timothy 3:16
02
The Holy Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal and co-eternal, each fully God yet distinctly personal.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." — Matthew 28:19
03
Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity and humanity of Jesus Christ — born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and ascended to the Father.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." — John 3:16
04
Salvation by Grace

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. No amount of human effort or good works can earn or supplement God's free gift.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God." — Ephesians 2:8
05
The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, empowering them for holy living, spiritual growth, and effective witness.

"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses... to the ends of the earth." — Acts 1:8
06
The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ — all who have trusted Him as Savior. The local church gathers regularly for worship, teaching, fellowship, and mission.

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together." — Hebrews 10:24-25
07
Baptism & Communion

We observe believer's baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Christ, and the Lord's Supper as a memorial of His death and a proclamation of His return.

"For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes." — 1 Corinthians 11:26
08
The Second Coming

We believe in the personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ. He will judge the living and the dead; the righteous will enjoy eternal life and the unrighteous eternal separation from God.

"For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command... and the dead in Christ will rise first." — 1 Thessalonians 4:16

The Apostles' Creed

"I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried...
On the third day He rose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen."
